According to this New York Times article, many of the negative effects previously thought to taunt coffee addicts may be a bunch of boeuf. Of course, the article doesn’t try too hard to present the counter data, maybe because standard wisdom already does that for us. I suspect that many of the positive effects of the stuff come from the various  associations and perks that come from  “going for a coffee.” In any case, drink up, mes ami(e)s! Photo by Amancay Maahs.

Made a version of this beef and guinness pie off taste.com.au.

I added a little extra garlic (as always), some tomato paste and salt & pepper. It turned out to be *quite* tasty, absolutely delicious with the requisite tomato sauce and of course pretty in lovely le creuset ramekins. Yum! 

I’ve discovered an absolute love for the buttery puffy goodness of puff pastry. In fact, “puff pastry” was a contender for the name of this blog but I think “meat pie” sounds better, even if it is all carnivorous-like.

I am now blogging… with punctuation (mostly). upper case is kept to a minimum though. 

It’s supposedly a healthy thing to do, which makes sense. It should help me temper that frustrated-with-my-tumultuous-and-uncooperative-recovery-bitch face and, importantly, let me bitch some more. Should have started this long ago.

Maybe I can even share pretty things I come across or create.
