ABOUT

Susie Choi is an Australian-born artist who lives and works on Gadigal and Wangal Land. Born in Western Sydney to South Korean migrant parents, Choi’s multi-disciplinary practice spans ceramics, sculpture and installation. Choi’s work enmeshes fragments of Korean material culture with ideas relating to her upbringing in Australia. Choi graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Art in Ceramics in 2021 from National Art School, Australia. She has been a finalist in multiple art prizes and is the recipient of the 2024 UniSQ Art Award Emerging Artist Prize. Recent exhibitions include the East of Auburn at Sabbia Gallery in Sydney and Island of Misfit Buoys at Mitchell Fine Art. Her work is held in public collections in Australia and private collections internationally.
